Hapkido Shim Do Kwan

Hapkido Shim Do Kwan is the Hapkido subschool of Hanmudo Association Singapore.

Dr. Chua with (L) Dojunim Ji Han Jae (Hapkido Founder) and (R) Dojunim He-Young Kimm (Hanmudo Founder)

Hapkido is part of the syllabus in Hanmudo . Hanmudo has syllabus from Hapkido, Taekyon, Kuk Sool, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Yudo (Korean Judo), Muye Yiship Saban, Sunmudo, Sundo and Kum Do(Sword).Individuals ,schools or organizations who are of Hapkido or Taekwondo background may initially find the Hanmudo syllabus too vast. They can practice the Hapkido part of Hanmudo first before converting fully to the Hanmudo syllabus.

Dr.Chua has been taught personally by Korea Hapkido Association Master Kim Duc Soo, World Hapkido Federation Grandmaster Kwang Sik Myung, and Global Hapkido Federation Grandmaster Han Jung Do. He has learnt the hard and soft styles of Hapkido from these grandmasters. He has also learnt the Sin Moo style of Hapkido from Dr.Kimm ,who learnt from Hapkido Founder Grandmaster Ji Han Jae.

Shim Do Kwan in Korean means The Way of the Heart. Dr.Chua combined the knowledge from all the masters he had learnt from into the Hapkido Shim Do Kwan style. However the Hapkido Shim Do Kwan order of techniques follows the same syllabus as the Hapkido part of the Hanmudo syllabus, with variations of techniques from the different grandmasters.

Hapkido Shim Do Kwan is affiliated with Korea Kido Association (Korea Kido Hae)

Black Belt Certification of Hapkido Shim Do Kwan is from Korea Kido Hae.
